Hate Speech By Any Other Name is as Sweet as a Rose By Any Other Name

We have a DOJ whistleblower who seems to be intimating that the politically appointed heads of DOJ are redefining hate speech, voter intimidation and hate crimes in general. In short, hate speech by some is to be tolerated.

My son goes to public school. If he were to call another student a "fag" or "queerbait" he could be expelled. If he makes any kind of veiled threat, he can be turned in by any anonymous person and be held accountable for the threat. Similarly, if a bar patron uses any kind of slur, he can be arrested for a "hate speech" crime. If he gets into a fight, the sentence can be worse if he calls his opponent nigger, kike, wop, spic, beaner, queer or a thousand other racial or social epithets.

So it is unclear to me how a person can stand at a microphone and call for "killing" people in the name of anything and not be charged with a hate crime. The evidence is there and the person can be seen exhorting people to kill in the name of ending some kind of perceived oppression. How can this happen?

We have changed from a country ruled by law to one ruled by whim. In what a sad time we live.
